Track Billability of Task/Time Entry

I would like the ability to be able to track if a task/time entry is billable or not for any given project that task/time entry is related to.
If the project is billable per hour, the default would be on, and the user would be able to turn it off if they didn't want to bill the client for the time.
This would help keep all work aligned with the single project instead of having to create "a separate project for non-billable hours under a client so they can keep track of time without actually invoicing for the hours."
I've attached an example (source Clockify)

We have added the ability to flag a time entry as non-billable.

I think the ability to mark certain hours as non billable would be great. Harvest does this really well, under a project you can add item and mark each item as billable or not. It’s really handy as you can keep it high level (billables and non billables) or you can make items stages or different parts of the project (like for branding you might have logo, biz cards, stationery etc).
Plus if it’s a fixed cost project then I can use my actual time to see whether I’ve billed the client accurately and whether I need to allow more or less money and time in future. See example below.

I also have things that I want to keep track of in an hourly based project that are non-billable! :) +1👍

I used apollohq. Best tool for time tracking IMO. You can setup your status (billable, billed, unbilllable) and category (project, akquacquireise ex) and filter your reports that way later.

Being able to log time as not billable is a critical feature for us!

I was just coming in to post this exact request. It is not uncommon to track time I don't want to bill for a billable project. I do want a record of the time spent, but I don't want to bill for that particular time, and I don't want it hanging around saying "unbilled" for years.
In the past I had software that had 3 options for a timed event --
- Billable
- Not Billable but show on invoice
- Don't bill, don't show on invoice.
