Task timelines able to be set relative to project due date

This would be important for me as I do events. My deadlines and start times are always relative to the due date. For example, I want a follow up meeting 6 weeks before the due date. Then there are tasks that I want to be due 2 weeks before the project due date, etc.

My project workflow dates are determined (in this order) by:
- Date the client wants a physical deliverable in-hand
- Dates the client provides their wording and pays invoices
- Amount of edits requested after wording/payments but before their shipping deadline
- time a couple of printers/service providers take to process my order for the same project.
So I can't set anything up based on the date they sign a contract. Because ultimately clients don't follow MY timeline. And I don't want to see a bunch of "hopeful" task dates in my focus area or as cards on a project task kaban until I can realistically act on them.
Having default to-dos available for Project Task stages (just like the Opportunities) could also provide a similar result (at least for how I am currently processing projects through Moxie). :)

I agree, my projects start date depends on my availability and their requirments, and the start date/tasks can start months after my client has signed the agreement.

Lisa Doiron: there is a start date field in the package settings in the agreement.

Geoff Mina Yes I know, but since I potentially have more than one proposal out at a time, and whoever completes the proposal and pays the deposit gets the next spot on my calendar, I hesitate to assign a start date until I have a completed proposal and a deposit.
If there is a clean way to do this with the start date in the package settings that I am not understanding, please let me know.

Ditto My projects start not on the signature of the contract, but on a date chosen by the client (sometimes weeks ahead)

To piggyback, it would also be helpful to be able to set due dates/timelines relative to a certain event within the project vs. signed date or final deadline. For example, if I register an LLC, I have 120 days to file an additional required document. I would like to be able to set that due date from the date of the filing vs. the date the client signs the agreement.
