Project task slideout window needs to stay open until user intervention

When a project task slideout opens there is a serious bug in there. When you start writing a comment and accidentally click out of the slideout area, the window closes and the existing unfinished comment has been saved and sent to the client! This needs to be fixed somehow, ie, the window needs to stay open no matter what until the comment has been completed (close button?)

this is no longer a bug as it will save all data even if the window closes.

It’s not a bug. We designed it to save when you click outside.
We had a highly upvoted feature asking for th le exact behavior. We will need to see how many others upvote this to see if we want to reverse course on that decision.

Geoff Mina: You cannot imagine how many times I have clicked outside while the message has been half written! Could you, at least, keep the message in there in the comments area without sending it while clicked outside the window? I am pretty sure, voters didn't vote for that, lol.

George: usually it’s not a big deal as you can go back and edit the comment. Are these tasks assigned to client contacts that are triggering notifications to them?

Geoff Mina: Yes, tasks are assigned to client contact. I have just tried this with a test project where a test contact has been added. The unfinished comment has been sent as an email. And of course, editing the comment doesn't retrigger another email. It doesn't look professional from my end.

Geoff Mina What about an option in the preferences if we want to enable this feature or not? By the way, can you point me to the feedback thread where this option was asked?
